US-based Nuance Communications has launched the new AI-powered “Dragon Medical Virtual Assistant” especially for healthcare providers. The solution takes root from the award-winning Nuance Virtual Assistant platform, and is a great help for medics as it streamlines a wide range of clinical workflows. Over 500,000 clinicians in the US are already depended on the Dragon Medical Virtual Assistant for their day-to-day documentation.
The solution delivers sophisticated conversational dialogues and pre-built capabilities automating high-value workflows. Moreover, a survey of 10,000 American clinicians – conducted by Nuance – shows 80% of them believe that virtual assistants would drastically change the healthcare sector by the end of 2018.
The Dragon Medical Virtual Assistant features a cloud-based voice recognition technology that allows any individual, using specialised medical terminology, to converse in a natural manner with high accuracy – and that too without any voice training across a range of devices and applications.
The solution is embedded with unique, advanced workflow capabilities across major EHR systems which are used every day on mobile, web, and desktop platforms.
There is also a prototype smart speaker especially customised for healthcare that connects to the Dragon Medical cloud, and optimised for clinical interactions and ambient speech clinical workflows. Moreover, it leverages the HITRUST CSF certified Microsoft Azure cloud hosting platform to deliver the enhanced performance, security, and privacy today’s providers require.
